Partner Spotlight: Tattly is Back With a 2019 Edition of an In/Visible Talks Temporary Tattoo

At our first-ever conference in 2018, Tattly introduced custom temporary tattoos of our In/Visible Talks logo. So cool! The Brooklyn, New York–based company launched in 2011 to offer “Fake Tattoos by Real Artists” featuring the work of professional designers and illustrators. Those artists get a cut of every sale, and in 2017, they hit the $1 million mark in total royalty payouts. Today Tattly products are sold in over 1,000 stores in over 40 countries.
We asked Tattly’s Creative Team a few questions about their creative process, and their answers are below. We look forward to seeing everyone sporting their 2019 edition Tattly In/Visible Talks temporary tattoos at 2019 In/Visible Talks.

How does your brand’s team collaborate with the creative community?
“Tattly licenses art from real artists (including painters, illustrators, designers, and real tattoo artists) and makes them into high-quality temporary tattoos. We think of them as wearable art. We also make custom designs for brands, events, and organizations. It’s amazing seeing what our Custom Tattly clients come up with. One of our very first custom clients was NPR. That made us so happy!”
What was the #1 reason you chose to partner with In/Visible Talks?
“Arianna Orland is one of our beloved Tattly Artists, and we love the message and style of Paper Jam Press. (Their empowerment Tattly are very popular.) As a female-led company, we are behind the mission of offering diverse voices into the creative industry. Bravo, In/Visible Talks!”
Where does your team look for inspiration?
“Our creative team draws inspiration from artists and photographers we follow online and from our followers on social media. The #Tattly tag is so fun to browse through each week. We love anything a bit surreal, a little weird, and always colorful. We also like taking Tattly to the streets of Brooklyn for product shots.”
In six words or less, what do you love about your team?
“Resourceful, Scrappy, Joyful, Designy, Fun!”
Our brand’s biggest creative win was….
“Our creative team recently redesigned our website, and it’s a dream. Our priority is to show our artists Tattly in an exciting, vibrant, and joyful way, and we’re really happy with the way it turned out. We worked with the digital designers/strategists at Lucid, and we continue to add new features every month. We especially love organizing Tattly by color, browsing through artists’ pages, and our gif of the week, of course.”
Share one creative thing your team does that is a part of your brand culture.
“The confetti drawer in our office always stays full. And along with our office mates at CreativeMornings, we like to point the bubble machine out onto the street in our Brooklyn neighborhood for maximum commuter confusion/delight.”
Describe a dream collaborator (a company or a person) for your brand.
“We have a long list of dream collaborators. A few of them are Pixar, Hermes, LEGO, Patagonia, Nike, IKEA, Apple, and Sephora.”
